Who Am I?

I’m a professor. Getting a degree is challenging. I can help you succeed.

I went to a small undergraduate college for my bachelor’s degree, a large urban university for my master’s, and a world class research institution for my PhD. I have been there. I know how easy it is to become overwhelmed and I know how important personal mentorship can be to re-focus, re-set, and achieve your goals. I love working in higher education and after serving as a professor, department chair, and academic dean at various points in my career, I know that one-on-one support is critical, but it isn’t always accessible.
As a professor and advisor, I regularly coach students as they encounter obstacles in their academic journeys. With extensive experience helping a diverse student population, I can support learners from all backgrounds and with a range of challenges. In addition to twenty years of teaching and advising experience, I have professional training in: supporting students with ADHD, inclusive teaching strategies, teaching students how to learn, helping students to manage their emotions, and mindfulness based stress reduction.
Nothing brings me greater joy than facilitating student success. Let me help you.
